Constitution for the

Order of the Stag’s Blood

I.          There shall exist in the Kingdom of the Outlands an award, known as the Order of the Stag’s Blood, which may be given by the Crown to those persons who have demonstrated excellence in the use and artistry of traditional SCA-style weaponry.

II.         The holders of this award shall be styled as Defenders of the Stag’s Blood and shall be entitled to place the initials D.S.B. after their names.

III.         The insignia of the Order shall consist of some rendition of the combination of a stag with either an axe and/or a sword, or a medallion bearing the registered badge of the Order: Vert, in saltire a sword inverted proper and an axe argent, hafted Or, surmounted by a stag’s head cabossed argent, armed, within a bordure embattled, Or.

IV.        Arms and precedence:

            A.         The award shall carry with it an Award of Arms.  Companions of the order shall take precedence after simple Grants of Arms.

B.         If the award is given to a person who bears an award carrying higher precedence than given above, his/her precedence shall remain unchanged.

C.        If the award is given to a person who has previously received an Award of Arms, his/her precedence shall date from his/her election to the Order.

V.         Amendments to this constitution shall be made by the Crown of the Outlands.

VI.        Companionship of all previous recipients of the Order is hereby confirmed.
